Very friendly helpful staff and excellent carvery Sunday dinner well cooked and a good selection of vegetables
Have just returned from Sunday carvery - the meat was overcooked and dry, the roast potatoes tasted as though they had been deep fried in stale oil, veg was OKish, Yorkshires were nice. Overall I would describe the experience as how I would imagine Sunday lunch in an old people's home to be. My daughter likes ketchup on her roast (yes, I know...heathen) so I asked for some but was refused as despite having ketchup in they "don't serve ketchup on a Sunday". If I owned a restaurant I would be more than happy to provide a paying customer with their required condiments! We paid for our carvery (didn't bother with pudding - couldn't get out of the joint quick enough) and left - we certainly will not be returning to the establishment under the current ownership.
We had a drink in the bar where mine host Dean was serving the drinks. He is very efficient and knew all his customers by name. Then on another occasion we booked in for dinner which was cooked by Angie. Her mashed potatoes were so creamy. By 6,30 Dean put his whites on and proceedef to carve the meat of which was a choice of three tender meats. Turkey, beef, and pork. Every thing was served with a smile and on hot plates given out by a smart young man. The tables had white linen on them with a sprig of berries. We'll worth the money. We will go again midweek. Also Sunday lunch is of the same ilk.
We go to The Royal Mail Cart regularly for Sunday Carvery and it is always excellent. Meats are always tender, beef, pork, Ham and Turkey The roasties and mash and all the veg + Yorkshire Pudding and Cauliflower Cheese are so tasty, topped off with as much gravy as you want. Highly recommended for a Sunday afternoon.
